      Your blood is usually about 7% of your body weight, so if an average 12 year old girl weighs about 42 kg then she might have around 2.94 (3) litres of blood.

      Completely agree with Helen on this one. As you get older (and assuming you gain weight as you body grows during your teenage years) your blood volume will also increase.

      I’m also going to add that when something happens and blood is lost from your body, the body has an amazing ability to replace all of the blood that is lost – up to 2 million red blood cells can be created every second. That is something to think about in the future if you consider donating blood (maybe you know an adult who does this?), even if you donate a pint of blood, all of it will begin to replace itself immediately and you will be back to your normal level in very little time.
