If we were jogging normally, like around the pitch as part of training, an adult would run at around 2.5-3 metres per second. If however there was a sudden zombie invasion, or a lion or bear suddenly appeared at the pitch and decided to chase us, we would definitely move faster – Usain Bolt is the fastest man in the world and can run at up to 9.44 metres per second so the human body is definitely capable of moving at much faster speeds!
