      Hi, thanks for your question!

This is a really good question, and there isn’t really a straight forward answer. Everybody is different, so for one person, running a mile a day could have a good training benefit. For someone else it might be too much and cause the athlete to have injuries or be unable to train properly.

If this athlete was a Sprint Kayaker, for example, running a mile a day for a year would be good for fitness. When the athlete stopped, they would probably find that although their body was familiar with training for that distance, their time would be slower.

It is also important to consider how hard the run is, would the athlete be trying to do the run as fast as possible. Or aiming for the same time each time….

If you want to ask a couple more questions about this then feel free!
