• Question: why do you like science

      I like understanding how the body works and how it adapts to different situations i.e. in extreme environments or when trying to overcome injury or disease.

      I agree with Katy, but to add to this I like the problem solving element of science. The idea that we as scientists need to be able to firstly ask good questions and secondly be able to come up with a good way of answering them!

      I like learning new things – new ways of doing things in the lab, new ways of looking at my results, having a chat with a student or someone I work with and learning to think about something in a new way. It’s exciting when all of this comes together and we discover something new in the lab that can help to make a real difference to someone’s ability to walk or run or to take part in sport. I like science for the way it can make a real difference to so many different people 🙂
