Yes, I was always asking why and how things worked or why they happened a certain way, and my family encouraged me to ask lots of questions. At the time, I didn’t realise that the things I was asking about were about science. I will admit when I was in secondary school there were part of science I didn’t find interesting (and I wasn’t very good at), but that’s the great thing about science – it’s got so many different parts to it, you are sure to find some part of it that you find interesting. When I was younger I didn’t even realise there was an area of science called sport science, and I definitely didn’t realise there were so many options in it or how it related to the things I was interested in, so that’s why it’s so important for us to talk to you all and give you a taste of how different it can be.

I was always interested in Science at school, learning new things. I wasn’t so good at Physics at school but I didn’t understand the real-world application at the time. Once I understood how Science could be applied and the different ways it could be used my interest developed further.
