Yes. All of my research involves doing experiments. I have done studies in the following areas:
How the time of day effects oxygen uptake]
How the menstrual cycle effects physiological responses
How different energy drinks effect performance
How deception can effect the outcome of exercise

All of these require different experimental conditions and set ups. In essence the experiment is the nuts and bolts of science.

Yes. Experiments are essential in research. You come up with a research question or industry or a sport wants a particular question answered. You then conduct the experiment in order to answer that question and report your findings.

Yes 🙂 we read about what others have done, and what needs to be done, then we start running our experiments in the lab.

I have several projects running at the minute, one looks at injuries in underage hockey players, and the rest are mainly running related. We’re currently looking at what happens your movement pattern when you get tired running, what is likely to cause an injury in a runner, and how much the size and strength of your muscles affects how you move.
