      I assume you mean how many calories are used to complete a marathon. Assuming your average body dimensions, we can estimate this to be around 2,600 Kcal over the course of the race.

      Great question. Around 2500-3000 Kcal for the marathon. But that depends on weight, age, gender and pace of running.

      The 2600 kilocalories is high over the 3-5 hour period it may take to complete a marathon, but to show you how amazing the human body is and just how hard it can work, a study has shown than someone completing a 1200 km bike ride over 42 hours can use up almost 25,000 kilocalories, which is quite incredible.
