If your body temperature gets too low, this could be incredibly dangerous. The human body is able to cope better in the heat than in the cold. Body temperature is usually kept at around 37C at rest in neutral conditions. If body temperature drops to 35C or lower hypothermia occurs. You will start to shiver, a process which aims to increase your metabolic rate to try to increase or maintain body temperature from dropping any lower but also uses up energy. Symptoms of hypothermia include tiredness, confusion, change in breathing from fast to slow and shallow and pale skin. Treatment is needed quickly as hypothermia can be fatal if left untreated. You need to warm the individual up, remove from cold environment and try to get them to drink some hot fluid and high energy food.
