The good news about Osgood Schlatters is that the pain stops when you stop growing. It is sore because someone is growing very quickly and the muscle hasn’t gotten longer at the same speed that the thigh bone is lengthening, but when you stop growing the muscle will also adapt and the pain will go away. the main thing to do is to rest it and give it some time to adapt and heal; it is best to not keep playing sport on it as this might make it more difficult in the long term to get fixed.

Give it some rest and ice the area it is sore, especially after you do some exercise. You can also keep your straight leg propped up on pillows which will help with bloodflow. The other thing you can do is some gentle stretching of the muscle at the front and back of your upper leg (thigh) for about thirty seconds, but it would be best to check this and how to do this with a physiotherapist or doctor so they can check you are OK to do so.
