it’s made up of three things – normal matter, dark matter and dark energy. Normal matter are the things we see, which are made up of atoms, but this only accounts for between 1 and 10% of the Universe. This is an area where there is a lot of ongoing research as there are so many things we still don’t know about it.

We only know about a small fraction of the matter in the Universe. The rest is a mysterious substance known only as dark matter.Ordinary matter, which includes atoms, stars, galaxies, and life, accounts for only 4.9% of the contents of the Universe. Dark matter, accounts for 26.8% of the contents whilst dark energy, which is the energy of empty space accounts for the remaining 68.3% of the contents.
