When I was younger I didn’t even realise sport science was a whole area, not to mention all the different things you can do in it and the different career options you can do from it. I think it’s really important for all of you to see that science isn’t just about lab coats and being stuck inside, it is a huge range of different things every day, and there are lots of different options within it. The prize money would also help to continue to spread on this information to more students!

I didn’t have this opportunity when I was at School and I would have loved to have been given the chance to talk to Scientists to find out about what their job involved. So I thought the opportunity could not be surpassed. I hope I can inspire the next generation of scientists and show there are many different career paths with a degree in Sport Science.

I actually have some colleagues and friends who have done I’m a Scientist before, in different disciplines, and they recommended it to me as really good fun and that the questions were often really interesting and gave a fresh perspective on their area!

I definitely found it interesting at school when we got to visit a university science lab and when scientists came to talk to us about their jobs and work, so I guess I wanted to do my bit to help you to understand and learn more about our work and careers.
